Current members of the Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation are:
Jon Bond grew up in Switzerland County and currently serves as the President of the
Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation. Prior to joining SCEDC, Jon served
as Deputy Commissioner of Policy and Planning for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development,
where he oversaw Indiana’s Implementation of the Workforce Investment Act.
Jon has also served as the Director of Operations for the Indiana Economic Development Council,
where he participated in the creation of Indiana’s economic development strategy.
Jon is a graduate of Switzerland County High School, Hanover College, Indiana University School
of Law-Indianapolis, and the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute .
As a certified economic developer and an attorney, Jon has served as legal counsel for public
and non-profit organizations. Jon serves on the board of The Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation,
The United Fund of Switzerland County, Vevay Main Street, The Southeastern Indiana Regional
Planning Commission, and The Historic Hoosier Hills Resource Conservation and Development Area.
Jon is a member of the Indiana Economic Development Association, The International Economic
Development Council, and The Indiana Bar Association.
A lifelong Hoosier, Mike Busch serves as the Vice-President for Workforce Development
for the SCEDC, and directs Switzerland County’s EcO15 initiative.
Mike is a native of Cass County in north-central Indiana, where he served two terms
as Indiana’s youngest county commissioner. He served on the staff of U.S. Representative
Jim Jontz throughout Mr. Jontz’s entire tenure in Congress. Mike also worked for the
Workforce and Economic Development division of Ivy Tech Community College before being
tapped to lead Fulton County, Indiana’s economic development organization.
Mike served as President of the North Central Indiana Economic Development District and
chaired the task force that produced two nationally-recognized State of the Regional
Workforce reports. Mike is a member of the Indiana Economic Development Association
and the International Economic Development Council, for whom he served as a redevelopment
volunteer along Louisiana and Mississippi’s Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina.
